We use accredited installers & approved panels to ensure the ROC payment is available for you.
The grant system allows home owners that purchase and install Solar PV to avail of the Northern Ireland Renewables Obligation. (Known as ROC's for other parts of the UK)
The scheme obliges electricity suppliers to produce a certain number of certificates - Knows as ROCs - as a proportion of the amount of electricity which they supply to their customers in Northern Ireland)
THE TARIFF EXPLANED
Power NI publishes its prices for export in October each year and this helps calculate the expected income you can earn for the year ahead.
From 1st October 2013 - 30 September 2014
1 ROC for generators up to 50Kw = 4.24p/Kwh
Photovoltaic (PV) up to 50Kw 4 ROCs = 16.96p/Kwh
customer is paid this (16.96p) for every KWH they produce wether they use that or not up to a 50kw system. So from a 1kw to 4kw to 20kw they all get 16.96p which is 4 ROCS.
The customer also gets paid 5.59p for every KWH that they don't use that goes back to the grid. Their supplier buys that off them.
